Lots going on this weekend at West Central Park starting with the West Olympia Farmers’ Market this Saturday, July 17th, from 11-2! Music and fresh food from the best and most local of what our small farmers have to offer. There will be LOTS to fill your baskets with including veggies , herbs, flowers, pastries, fresh chicken, pork, seafood, goat cheese, healing herbs and crafts. Don’t miss it!
Also on Saturday, July 17th, at 12 noon Heather Wood is offering another in her natural beekeeping series, a free workshop to help you learn more about the anatomy of the honey bee and to introduce you to the concept of the hive as one being. The workshop will be given under the white pop up at the south end of the Park in the hugelkulture garden area. An essential learning experience for the budding bee enthusiast!
And on Sunday, as always, you can come and be one of the most important pieces of West Central Park, the hard working volunteer maintenance crew. From 10-2 in the Summer, we are out here at the Park taking care of all the necessary weekly maintenance like weeding, mowing and picking up and emptying the garbage.
Put next Monday, July 18th on your calendar too and plan on coming out to the second movie in our Monday Movie Madness series, This Is Spinal Tap! Christopher Guest’s satire of a heavy metal band on tour will have you in stitches! Bring your blankies and pals and get ready for a real neighborhood experience. Popcorn and tea will be sold and parking will be available on the south end of the block.
Thanks to all who have attended and participated in our Park activities, we do this all for you!
