The West Central Park’s 2nd Annual June Jubilee went off without a hitch last Saturday. The event was a hands on demonstration style exhibition. Skills like dry stack wall building, mosaic, origami, copper pounding, wood carving were demonstrated and workshops such as designing your own park, sacred space beadwork and permaculture design were a great way for all ages to get hands on. Music from The Hinges, John’s Daughter and Daniel Cherniske serenaded the corner throughout the event as a variety of foods from Vante’s Inferno, Tamale Fusion and the West Oly Farmer’s Market were offered. Thanks to all who came out and enjoyed and helped to make it all happen!
Our next volunteer work party will be Sunday, June 29th from 10 to 1. We will be weeding, mulching and mowing but also, this Sunday will be our first harvest from our Permaculture Gardens! We will be preparing a fresh salad after the work party from the booming hugelkulture beds. Bring your gloves, and a fork and a bowl and we’ll provide the rest. See you then!
