Leadership Opportunities, Honey Harvest, and Artist Search!

West Central Park Project

Good Morning Friends,

We hope this week has treated you well! We will have our regular scheduled winter work party this Sunday from 11-1. And it looks like we may even have some nice weather that day so come on out and help with weed pulling, litter pickup, and other general park maintenance needs!

One of our biggest goals for this year is to help create more ways for the local community to get involved at the park. If Sunday mornings don’t work for you, read on to learn about several other ways you support the park in 2018!

Join the Board of Directors

Are you a strong leader with a passion for the local environment, economy, and people of Olympia? Do you have a desire to step up your involvement with the West Central Park Project and get in on the planning level of this valuable community asset? If so, please consider joining our Board of Directors! Our team is looking to fill several positions at this time. If you are interested, please let us know and consider joining us for our next board meeting on January 18, 2018 from 6-8pm at the park office!

Purchase Locally Harvested Honeycomb

After the unfortunate death of the bee hive residents this past fall, we have a surplus of beautiful honeycomb available for sale to the public! And in order to bring in a new colony of bees this spring, we need to raise money to get them here. This delicious, local honeycomb is available on a sliding scale fee and all proceeds go towards the new bee colony. If you would like to purchase some, please send us a message and we will set up a time to meet at the office. Or stop by on Sunday during the normal work party hours!

Become a Featured Artist

Are you or someone you know a sculpture artist looking for a place to feature art publicly? If so, we have an exciting new opportunity starting this year at the park! We are in the process of installing two art plinths and are in search of two artists to feature for the first year. Art pieces must be outdoor ready since they will remain outside for a full year. Each artist will receive a $600 stipend for their work. Please spread the word and let us know if this sounds like something for you!

Have a wonderful weekend!
