Howdy Park Folks!
Fall work party hours are here and each Sunday, our work parties will run from 11-1 through the winter, until spring of 2017. This Sunday, October 16th volunteers will be starting the process of getting all of the WCP tents cleaned, dried and put away. The Park Board made the decision in light of the pending high winds, to remove the tents from the pad ahead of the Sunday work party. The tents were partly dismantled and stacked in the next door yard. We will tackle them one at a time tomorrow from 11-1. Come give us a hand!
We recently found out that the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church will be putting on a fundraiser for the Park next spring! The Church has a program called Partners in Ministry where they reach out to different local organizations and help to bridge members of the community with those various efforts. The Park Trustees were very honored when we were told that we would be next year’s recipient. The fundraiser will be held on March 18th at the Red Lion Hotel, so mark your calendars!
Do you do sculpture or outdoor art? The Park wants to know about it! Two new plinths will be installed at the north and south ends of the Park to support beautiful local, outdoor art pieces for up to six months at a time. Would you like to see your art in the park? Let us know!
Remember Oly, this Park is for you, get involved!
