The Park is now the proud home of a beautiful, locally crafted, and permanent chessboard! The board is made from multi-colored granite, flagstone and concrete and will be at the Park forever. ready for you to play chess or checkers on. Permanent seats will be another few weeks coming so we put out a couple of wooden benches for now. In the future, when the Park has its own office on site, chess and checkers pieces will be offered for rental. Thanks Matt Guerin, Olybuilt Contracting and Josh Justice for all the hard work and TLC that it took to get this done.
At sunrise tomorrow Pastors Doug and Molly from Gloria Dei Lutheran will be offering an open early Easter morning service. They will be there with part of their choir, many of their congregation and hot coffee and pastries to share. Service will start at 6:30 am with a shuttle running from Gloria Dei. Some limited parking will be available on site, and accessed from Cushing, the rest of the parking will only be available on street.
Later in the day, we’ll be having our regular Sunday work party from 11-1 and there will be lots to do, putting away the four tents, and tables and weeding and cleaning the grounds. Starting in April our Sunday work party hours will start at 10 and end at 2. As the weather warms up there will be lots more to do keeping the Park looking loved.
