Park Update May 7, 2016 and Tent Raisin’ Tomorrow 10-2!

Tomorrow, May 8th, our regular Sunday work party from 10-2 is on for our all-tent set up! The Park tents will be set up for the whole summer season through mid October, to accommodate the West Oly Farm Market, and assorted community events. Tomorrow we will also need all hands on deck for the overall park spiffying crew! Edging, mowing, and weeding will be top priority to make the Park look its best for the WOFM opening day on Tuesday, May 10th from 4-7 pm. Starting this year, the Market will be open open on Saturday mornings from 10-1 am as well. Get out your shopping basket and mark your calendars!

If you thought you saw a new food truck at the Park, you did! Rosie’s Joint started up business at West Central last week and will continue for lunch service during the coming months, expanding to breakfast service soon. Drive up and walk up access will both be available for most of the summer except during markets and events. Come on over and have lunch at the Park courtesy of Rosie’s Joint!

Yes, we do need your help every single Sunday from 10-2 in the summer and from 11-1 in the wintertime. The Park is not subsidized by any public organization and gets no public assistance whatsoever. It is a recognized 501c3, public charity. that owns park land. We are called a Private Neighborhood Park because we are not owned by the government, or public sector. West Central Park while privately owned, is as publicly accessible as any other park in town. So come on out and pitch in when you can, but most of all come on out to simply enjoy West Central Park!
