Sunday work Party this Sunday, August 21st from 10-2 at West Central Park! All are welcome and we rely on you to keep this Park looking its loveliest. Since this Park receives no help or funding from the City of Olympia, our Park maintenance is not a no brainer. Community members like you and the effort that you go to for WCP, is the very motor that the Park relies on for its sustenance. Please make time for an hour or two of weeding or watering a week here at the Park, and enjoy the results as you drive by every day.
Don’t forget this sweet spot to have your lunch with friends! Centrally located and easily accessed by the 41 and 48 busses, the WCP with its two new food trucks is the perfect lunchtime break spot. Enjoy Rosie’s Joint, custom BBQ or OlyGo Juice’s freshly squeezed juices or just bring your own picnic! This Park’s for you.
Coming up on Monday is our second to last Monday movie, Babe the Gallant Pig! The feature will start around dusk and the park crew will have popcorn and tea for sale. Bring your blankies and buddies and make a night under the stars of it!
Saturday, August 27th at noon, come to the park for another in Heather Wood’s beekeeping workshop series. The workshop is free and open to the public and will get you started on the right track to natural beekeeping in your own back yard!
Don’t forget the West Oly Farmers’ Market each and every Tuesday from 4-7 on the event pad at WCP. Parking is available on the south end of the block, or on the side streets. Please do not park at the Westside Tavern parking lot. Walking and bussing still remain truly the very best way to get to the Park and the market. If we really want to make a difference at home with climate change, we must work each day to reduce our carbon production a little bit more in our everyday lives. We can make a difference!
See you around the Park!
