Sunny Sunday Work Party 10-2, 5/21/17!

Hey Park Folks!

Looks like a sunny Sunday coming our way which is an extra special treat for our work party session this week! Our regular work party is scheduled for tomorrow, 5/21/17 from 10-2. We will be tackling weed control, mowing, clearing overgrowth, planting starts and picking up stray litter. Won’t you help us make this little special corner of the world shine? Would be so great to see you there.

The West Olympia Farmers’ Market is looking forward to a beautiful Tuesday afternoon this week for their weekly edition of fresh flowers, produce, ready made yummies from Tasteful Joy and Rawk Star, live music every week and so much more! Get your bags and baskets and come out this Tuesday from 4-7 pm. Parking is available in the parking lot on the south end of the block accessible through 4th Avenue. Support your local farmers!

Some of you might have noticed the bus stop missing at Harrison and Cushing. That is because it is going to be moved to the west about 15 feet. Since the development of the new Parkside Cafe will place a front door right where the bus stop was, we kindly asked IT about it. They said that they have wanted to move that bus stop fifteen feet to the west for years! Perfect. Thanks IT!

And, the newest news is that the somewhat disheveled cinder block building at the north end of the block has finally joined the West Central Park Neighborhood Center! Yes, look for a bright new paint job and a good tidying up, this one is a real sleeper! The building features an awesome warehouse space for park equipment and a little apartment on the Park side. Calling mural artists! Ms Elliott is looking to get a beautiful mural painted on the big wall of the building. Please let her know if you are interested in applying at: hello@wcpnc.org.

See you at the Park!
