The Power of Volunteerism at WCP Sunday Work Parties!

Hey Park Peeps!

Well the wonder of the power of volunteer labor never ceases. Last Sunday at our regular work party we had 15 volunteers and a sunny day and 13 10×10 tents were disassembled, cleaned, hung to dry and put away! This feat was accomplished in the usual work party hours from 10-1 and all powered by positive thinking, muscle and smiles. A huge to thanks to all who came out last week to help make our big push to get all our tents cleaned, hung to dry and put away not such an overwhelming task.

Tomorrow we’ll be out again getting the dry tents folded and the stage and stage tent put away. We will be starting the work party right at 10 and run till 2 as usual but starting in November, our work parties will be on winter schedule and go from 11-1. If you haven’t had a chance to make it out to one of our work parties do make time some Sunday. It is a great way to meet new neighbors and work together in community.

In addition to attending work parties, the Park has other ways to plug in and be a part of designing the future of this little oasis. Are you interested in community outreach? The Park needs folks to work on membership programming. Interested in Art? The Park needs people to spearhead our rotating outdoor art program. The Park also has a couple of openings on our Board of Trustees, the governing body of the WCP. The West Central Park needs you to be a part of preserving and caring for the longevity of this community gathering space for generations to come.

This is our Park Olympia, let’s do it right!
