West Central Park has never looked prettier and it’s thanks to the generosity and muscle of the amazing community that it serves. The trees and shrubs that were carefully planted in the drizzle and rain of the fall and winter work parties are letting loose all they have now and passers by can realize the benefit that trees and plants really do have on our mental well being. To honor the past year of hard work and TLC that have been bestowed on this little .64 acre of ground. On this May 18th, the day of the very first volunteer meeting at the park one year ago, the Board of West Central Park will be hosting a neighborhood picnic. From 11-1 that day, there will be ice tea, lemonade and a couple of bbq grills for cooking. Come on down that day, with a dish to share, meet your neighbors, and help us celebrate one year of a great thing.
Coming right up however, on Sunday, May 4th, from 10-1, there will be a regular work party at the Park. We will be doing just what we’ve been doing for this past year, carefully tending our neighborhood oasis. All are welcome, and truly appreciated. Bring your gloves and we’ll supply the rest.
