Now that the rains have arrived in force, a new little rain garden, at the north end of the Park is being put to the test. So far, it is passing with flying colors! WCP Board members took part in the rain garden workshops offered by the City of Olympia (http://olympiawa.gov/city-utilities/storm-and-surface-water/rain-gardens.aspx) to learn all the ins and outs of how a rain garden should work. The Park Volunteers worked hard through four work parties to get this project done and the thanks should go mostly to them who spent hours digging the trench. Thanks you guys! And thanks to the City for recognizing the hard and careful work here by awarding us with $400 worth of rain garden reimbursement. Thanks Olympia!
