WCP Weekly News #155 Fall Tent Cleaning Time!

Hey Park Peeps!

It’s Fall tent cleaning time! This year we are cleaning our tents a little differently. Instead of taking them all inside and slowly cleaning them, we will be cleaning one at a time and no more than four at a work session. They will be left on the frames outside as we scrub them and move them inside to dry one at a time. The whole process should only take four or five work parties to accomplish at a manageable rate. These tents are a big asset for the Park and need this annual TLC to stay in good shape. Come on out and lend a hand! Remember new Fall Work Party hours are 11-1.

The Park needs volunteers for our vegetable garden and permaculture food forest! Do you have an interest in growing food for all to share in progressive and innovative ways? A few hours a month tending hugelkultur and permaculture gardens might be just the ticket. All of the food that is produced at West Central Park is intended for the community to share in. Anyone is welcome to come and harvest what they may, taking not more than they need, and leaving enough for others. Come help us create food for all our neighbors!

Remember, the West Central Park is owned by a 501c3 Nonprofit Public Charity and is recognized by the federal government for tax exemption. Whether you help out on the Board, on a committee, at a Sunday Work Party, or donate some money, that contribution is recognized by the IRS as a tax deductible contribution. You can rest assured and have the satisfaction of knowing that your volunteer effort and contributions to WCP have a visible, and longstanding effect on this little community oasis and on the neighborhood at large for generations to come. That’s definitely something to be proud of West Oly!
