Fun stuff happening at West Central Park! Thanks to the success so far, of our go fund me campaign, we have been able to book two free music shows at the Park this summer! Our first show will be Tony Furtado back for his second performance at West Central. This time Tony will be performing with his wife and music partner Stephanie Schneiderman who is an amazing musician in her own right! The show will start at 7pm and last up until 10 pm, so bring your blankies and lawn chairs and come prepared for an outdoor feast for your ears!
Our next show will be an Equinox Dance Party on September 23rd with the Hinges and High Ceiling! Come on you fun loving dancing fools, break out your best dancin sandals and head on over to the West Central Park at 6 pm on September 23rd for some incredible tunes! The event will catered by Vante’s Inferno all night till midnight! Don’t miss this.
Our WCP Summer Concert Fund still needs your help to get us to our goal of $5000 before the end of August! We are so close with $2975, please share with all music lovers that you know. It’s hard to deny the benefit of free outdoor music help us keep it alive and be able to pay our dear local musicians a living wage.

Each and every Sunday the Park staff open the tool shed and bring out tools for anyone to come and use. This is because this is not just another public park. This is a privately held public park. It is owned by a 501c3 public charity run by a board of community members. The Park is entirely maintained by volunteer help and the Sunday work parties are where we get a majority of our maintenance done together in community. Come to the Park any Sunday from 10-2 in the summer and 11-1 in the winter and be a part of caring for this neighborhood oasis.
Next Monday our free movie feature is ‘Babe, Pig in the City’, next Monday, August 14th at 9pm. Come watch the continued adventures of Babe and Farmer Hoggett as they venture a bit further afield into the big city. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and settle in for a fun evening with your neighbors under the stars.
Don’t forget the Tuesday Farmers Market! Each Tuesday until October 10th, from 4-7, loads of fresh goodies each week are brought lovingly to you. Don’t let them bring their hard efforts in vain, patronize this little farm market if for no other reason than you believe in little farm markets! There will be something you need there, guaranteed. Help us keep farm markets alive and well!
See you around the block!
