West Central Park Weekly Update #125

Hello Park Folk!

Well another work party is revving up for this Sunday at West Central Park from 11-1. Come on out to the little oasis on the corner of Harrison and Division and meet some neighbors as you help make a beautiful green space for the whole community to share. This Sunday all the necessary maintenance will be tackled along with our ongoing tent cleaning and mini bird and bee house building projects. Bring your gloves and your grins and come help make something awesome happen.

We are still looking for some help on our Board of Trustees and our three committees. Let us know if you’d like to get involved in public relations, arts or fundraising for the Park. The Park depends on your participation and contributions of time, care and money to survive. Lets keep West Central Park a vibrant piece of West Olympia for generations to come!

In the biggest news this week, the West Central Park is officially the first and only private neighborhood park in Olympia! We got our use approved with the conditions that the Park will upgrade the alley, and the Park will not block the alley. The Park will be allowed to apply for permits to block the alley during our events and markets. In order to permanently block the alley from vehicle traffic, an alley vacation must be accomplished. Look forward to more events and a new sign, and lots more surprises in store for this summer at West Central Park!
